Soaring Pride Band sends 12 to All State Band

2019 Soaring Pride Band All State Band members

Congratulations to all SPB members who participated in the Area auditions on Saturday, January 12, 2019. The band set a new school record by having 12 students earn a seat in the All State band. A special congratulations to the following All State band members. We are so proud of you!

Soaring Pride Band Dominates All Region Band Auditions

Members of the Soaring Pride band participated in All-Region auditions on Monday, December 3rd. Of those who auditioned, 63 were selected as members of the All-Region band. 34 of those chosen qualified to advance to the Area competition to be held in Levelland on Saturday, January 12th. Congratulations to all who auditioned! What a great way to represent Canyon High School! 

Soaring Pride Band Featured on Channel 4 News

On December 4, 2018 Mr. Sheffield, along with senior band members Calvin Burns, Ian Hughes, Jarrett Johnson , and Aryauna Thompson were featured during the Studio 4 segment of the Channel 4 news to recognize the Soaring Pride Band for their accomplishments at the UIL State Marching Championship held in San Antonio on November 7, 2018.

Soaring Pride Band Advances to Area Marching Contest in Lubbock

 Congratulations to the Soaring Pride Band for earning straight ones at the Regional Marching contest held at Dick Bivins Stadium on Saturday October 20th! The band will now advance to the Area Marching contest to be held at Lowery Field in Lubbock on Saturday, October 27th. The area contest will determine which bands will advance to the state marching contest the first week in November. Good luck SPB! MARCH ON CANYON!!!!

High Plains Marching Contest Was a Huge Success

The Soaring Pride Band competed at the High Plains Marching Contest held at Dick Bivins Stadium on Saturday, October  13th. The band earned honors for Best Small School Band, Best Percussion, Best Drum Majors, 2nd place for Color Guard, and 3rd place overall. This was a great start to the competition season! Way to go SPB!!!
